The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) was established under Royal Decree No. (M/22) dated 6/9/1389 AH (November 15, 1969). Over the years, its regulations and insurance laws have evolved significantly. In 1442 AH, the Council of Ministers issued Resolution No. (657) approving the merger of the Public Pension Agency with GOSI, with the aim of unifying efforts, enhancing governance, and improving services under a single entity that meets the needs of beneficiaries and keeps pace with future developments.
GOSI represents the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to ensuring social security and a dignified life for all members of society. It is an independent government entity that seeks to provide comprehensive social protection and insurance coverage for all Saudi citizens and workers across different sectors including civilian and military employees of the state, workers in both the public and private sectors, in addition to a segment of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries citizens.
Its objectives focus on securing a decent standard of living for employees and their families after retirement, or in cases of disability and death. It also strives to improve quality of life by offering healthcare and necessary compensations through the Occupational Hazards Branch for both Saudi and non-Saudi workers in the event of injury or disability. In addition, it provides support to Saudi workers who lose their jobs due to circumstances beyond their control, along with other insurance and social services designed to safeguard every individual in the community.
With its decades-long journey and commitment to stability and well-being, GOSI continues to shape a secure present and a promising future for every generation, at every step.
