Social Insurance Law:
This law regulates insurance rights, obligations and compensation, also it is applied to all workers in the private or government sectors which are covered by the labor law that is aiming for providing these sectors with a financial source upon the end of their services.
This law contributes to achieve insurance protection for them according to the principle of social solidarity. Social insurance law includes two branched:
- Annuity branch: This law applies on saudi employees in the government and private sectors whom are covered by the labor law as well as saudi self-employed. If the legal conditions are met when the emplyee leave the work due to retirement, disability, or other cases, a retirement pension is paid, but in the case of death, it continues receiving the pension to the employee family.
- Occupational Hazards: This law is applied to the government and private sectors employees whom are covered by labor law, and this law provides compensation set in the law and its executive regulations in case of injuries resulting from work.
